Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival & Transfer to Udawalawe
Meet your naturalist driver at the airport and head to Udawalawe. Check into an eco-lodge bordering the park.
Day 2 Elephant Transit Home & Afternoon Safari
Visit the Elephant Transit Home to watch orphaned calves being bottle-fed. In the afternoon, embark on your first 4x4 jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park to see elephants, crocodiles, and raptors.
Day 3 Udawalawe to Yala National Park
Drive to Yala. Spend the afternoon on a jeep safari in Block 1, which has the highest density of leopards in the world.
Day 4 Full Day Safari in Yala
Pack a picnic lunch and spend a full day in Yala to maximize chances of spotting leopards, sloth bears, elephants, and spotted deer.
Day 5 Trek in Sinharaja Rainforest
Drive to Sinharaja Rainforest. Walk with a specialist tracker to identify endemic flora, colourful birds, green pit vipers, and giant squirrels.
Day 6 Sinharaja to Mirissa Beach
Trek in the morning, then drive to the beautiful beach town of Mirissa. Spend the evening walking along the shore.
Day 7 Blue Whale Watching Cruise
Sail out of Mirissa harbor early in the morning to see Blue Whales, Sperm Whales, and spinner dolphins. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 8 Departure via Galle Fort
Visit the Dutch Fort in Galle on the way back, walk past the lighthouse, and transfer to the airport.
